Gross-Wen Technologies expanding as it prepares to make sustainable aviation fuel from algae
Gross-Wen Technologies, an Iowa-based company specializing in using algae to clean wastewater, is partnering with a global energy company to produce sustainable aviation fuel from its algae-based biomass. The harvested algae is then processed into slow-release fertilizer and will now also be used to create biofuel, addressing President Biden's sustainable aviation fuel challenge. As part of its expansion, the company is establishing a new office in downtown Des Moines and a research facility near Boone, further solidifying its presence in the sustainable fuel and wastewater treatment sectors.
